Artist's Comments
This is about 19.5 x 30.5 or so inches done on cream colored rag paper with walnut ink and a few other brown inks. It depicts a cow in a factory farm. This was meant to be a political piece in favor of animal rights (a movement I'm part of). It is up to interpretation whether you think this is a cow on a hazy day in Fort Logan or a cow's severed head.
There is a double meaning, although the second one I don't expect anyone to get so I'll describe it. My mom is stuck at Fort Logan, a mental institute. She doesn't need to be there any longer, but it is taking forever to get her out. I am not happy with the way they treat their patients, my mom, or us (the family). So I put this cow in Fort Logan...maybe they treat their patients like cattle and that's the problem...and cattle shouldn't even be treated they way they are in factory farms. Anyway, I hope I've made sense here...possibly I've confused you more... Anyway, feel free to give me your own interpretation! |

As for your mother.. *hugs* I hope they sort things out for you very soon. If they are not treating her -and you all, well and she no longer needs to be there, a system should be in place to extract her in the easiest and quickest method. Unfortunately, this is the modern world.. just hang in there. I have my fingers crossed for you all.
