Hello fellow deviants! Sorry I've been MIA for a VERY long time. Rather than reply individually to comments/favs, let me just say thank you now...I really appreciate the great comments you guys leave on my deviations along with all the faving. My Work in the MJ Opus and Other Tributes
I am so happy and honored to have been selected to be in the "Global Icon" chapter in The Official Michael Jackson Opus! Only 26 artists and 18 writers were chosen to be in the book out of all the submissions. This is especially an honor because Michael Jackson approved of this book himself. The piece they selected is "Off to Neverland" http://amandapampena.deviantart.com/art/Off-to-Neverland-MJ-Opus-146081657 . Minee: April 2003 - February 26, 2009
I thought I would let everyone know that Minee, my orange cat, went to heaven unexpectedly on Thursday, February 26, 2009. We found out on that Saturday. He was 5 years old, almost 6, and 14 pounds. I was inspired to write this today because my random favorites were four orange cat artworks. Perhaps a sign that I needed to let you all know what happened...which is one of the reasons I have not been on lately.
There is a tribute to Minee on my website under Bio at http://www.amandapampena.com Just click on the "Bio" and scroll down to see it. He was cremated on the Wednesday following his passing (or evolution?). There are still many of
1st Place in Fine Art Category at Republic Plaza!
I just won my first prize ever from an art exhibition! I got 1st Place in the Fine Art category at Republic Plaza's "On My Own Time: Tenant Art Exhibit" in Denver, CO! The show runs till Friday, February 20th. "Loving Lily" was the piece that got me the prize, but you will also see "Bobby Sleeping" there. I totally did not expect to get 1st Place!
I actually got there just a few minutes late and missed the first few prize announcements, so I didn't pick up my ribbon in front of all the people. However, I am still VERY happy with the whole experience.
You may now visit my website at http://www.amandapampena.com
